So the other day I got a flat tire on my way to work. Thank goodness I was almost at work when it went flat. I was slowing down to make the turn to the street I work on when I felt the wheel wobbling and the steering wheel jerking to the left. Pulled into work, and sure enough- flat as a pancake. I got it all jacked up, took the wheel off at put the spare on. But that's when I realized that I have the most ballin' spare ever. It's made by Enkei so you know it's legit.
I checked the date code and the tires are just over 3 years old, so dry rot is ruled out. I'm still confused how I managed a blowout on relatively fresh tires.
The spare in question, but wait for it.
BOOM! Did somebody say offset?!
Why? Because Brembos. Why Brembos? Because manual trans salesman sedan.
See the Enkei logo cast in for true legitimacy of spare.
My new tire was sitting on my front porch yesterday when I got home from work and I had it installed down the street from me shortly after. Back to work, ballin' on mismatched tires *sigh* #poorpeopleproblems
You can win 1 internet if you can correctly guess the tire by its tread.

That's a seriously classy spare, no lie. I'm going to be putting two sizes of Weld Draglites (or the Jegs knockoff) on my project, and I'm going to take advantage of the fact that they also come in a not-for-highway use front-runner (drag car) set of sizes for a compact spare. Like the near one:

Not a bad tire, actually. I had a set on my slammed jetta. Paid 55$ a tire. Balanced well and since I was running stock camber and toe settings the ride was okay. Got me through a nasty winter too.

I loved that TWI. Can't read warning, time to change. Not wasting time looking around for tiny thing.

Miata* Is Always The Answer.
*Is actually an RX-8 spare kit, but is/was popular in the Miata community to fit in the NC which only came with a flat repair kit. Is also made by Enkei, has a decent offset to clear the brakes:
and is only available in PMY.

My buddy has a Miata and has been egging me to buy one. It'll come someday but the wife has a few projects she'd like me to get done around the house before I go off buying cars

I just got this one on Black Friday. It's been much better than I expected it to be, and I've grown to like it quite well. Was yours also a manual? Any issues with it? Why did you get rid of it?

Mine was an auto, unfortunately - I got rid of it because I missed driving stick, it needed the front control arms replaced plus some other suspension work to pass inspection (plus it was due for the timing belt/water pump which is a pain in the butt with how the engine is laid out), and I wanted something I could fit all the stuff I was buying for my house into. I didn't like the idea of putting sheets of plywood on top of it, lol.
I had it for almost 6 years and 70k miles. It was always comfortable and reliable. The Acura branded battery is a piece of garbage - if it dies once it won't ever hold a charge again. Service is pretty easy given that its a Honda underneath everything. Oil changes are stupid easy - you can get the filter out without jacking up the car - it's just inside the passenger wheel well. Also because it's a Honda - there is some debate over the aftermarket oil filters. I've heard there is an odd check valve setup that can starve the engine of oil briefly at start-up if you aren't using an oem filter. On the plus side - the filter is pretty cheap from any Honda dealer. Just tell them you have an accord if they say you can't get Acura parts - literally every Honda except 2 specific models use the same oil filter.
The manual is a unicorn - treat it as such. Congrats on picking a great car. If yuo aren't getting dedicated snow tires, I highly recommend the Continental ExtremeContact DWS. The car handles likes its on rails in any weather on those. Also it looks really good with a very slight drop, like if you were to go buy a set of Koni Yellows and mount the stock springs at the lowest setting you can. It won't rub but closes up the wheel well gap just right. Ask me how I know. xD

Thanks for all the help! I picked it up for a relative bargain because the guy selling it had a broken leg and couldn't drive stick anymore. He had it for sale for probably 2 months and nobody bit, so I decided to go take a look at it. Talked him down $500 from the already discounted price and I felt like I got a good deal on it. At 120k it's still running just fine. It came with a new clutch, all the required maintenance was done (including the timing belt and water pump) and had a set of tires that were only used for 5k (and, go figure, I got a flat on one). I was going to get the DWSs, but I decided to save $40 and get the General G-MAX. I'm not sure if I'll get snows or not next year, but compared with the Subarus that I used to drive, this thing was not fun in the snow.
I'm still debating lowering the car. Actually, I'm still debating with my wife to let me lower the car. I'd love to get some Konis and a set of performance springs to give it a subtle 2-finger wheel gap and then throw a thicker rear sway bar on it to really loosen up the rear end. So far it's been a fun car and I'm hoping to have this take me to the moon and back!
